Sciacchetra’ Museum

The Sciacchetra’ Museum was our next stop along the main street. Although not any bigger than a single room, it was still interesting. Since I very much enjoy this delightful dessert wine of the CinqueTerre, I was particularly enthralled with the displays and panels explaining how it is made.

After going through the museum, we continued walking upwards. Along the way, we passed several more antique wine presses displayed on the street and in the most unlikely places.

This wine press was tucked into a tiny alley

Eventually, we came upon a huge water wheel reminiscent of ones once used in making the local olive oil.

I'll be stopping here for a minute
